CIGARETTE BURN - GB/T18102-2007 (6.3.12) and GB/T17657-1999 (4.40) (adapted)

1. TOOLS
1.1 Absorbent gauze
1.2 Cigarettes (Zhonghua; Hongtashan; Mudan)
1.3 Cloth
1.4 95% industrial alcohol
1.5 Constant temperature and humidity chamber

2. SAMPLING
1*100x100 mm

3. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Temperature: 23 (+/-2)℃ 
Humidity: 50(+/-5)%

4. TESTING PROCEDURE
4.1 Acclimatize the sample in the constant temperature and humidity chamber for 7 days
4.2 Acclimatize the cigarette in the constant temperature and humidity chamber for 48 hours
4.3 Clean the sample surface with absorbent gauze



4.4 Light one cigarette and let it burn 10 mm
4.5 Then leave the cigarette on the sample surface until another 10 mm of the cigarette has burned up



4.6 If the cigarette became extinguished before burning for 10 mm on the sample, repeat the test with a new cigarette of the same brand on a new sample location
4.7 Repeat the test with 1 cigarette each of the 2 remaining brands making sure the distance between cigarettes is minimum 50 mm



4.8 Use a cloth damp with alcohol to clean the surface and then observe the surface under normal light conditions and from a distance of 40 mm

  

5. ASSESSING TEST RESULTS
Passing requirement: no black spots, no cracks, no blisters
