2 MINS/10 MINS WATER EXPOSURE AT JOINTS PRIVATE STANDARD

1. TOOLS
1.1 Surgical gauze 1
1.2 10 ml pipette
1.3 15 X magnifying lense

2. SAMPLING
2*400 mm long samples, with the profile intact

3. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Temperature: 23 (+/-2) °C
Relative humidity: 50 (+/-5) %

4. TESTING PROCEDURE
4.1 Clean the sample surface with the surgical gauze

4.2 Assemble the two samples and drop 10 ml water at the joints


4.3 After 2 /10 minutes, dry the water with the surgical gauze

4.4 Inspect the surface from different angles with the help of the magnifying lense

5. ASSESSING TEST RESULTS

No “ugly” swell after 2/10 minutes

Note: the key in this test is not the % swell after the short-term water exposure, but the aesthetic result which can be unacceptable despite the samples being within the standard swell allowances
