DIMENSIONAL STABILITY AFTER EXPOSURE TO HEAT EN 434:1994 (adapted)

1. TOOLS
1.1 Thermostatically-controlled ventilation oven
1.2 Solid metal support plates, ground and covered with a film of polytetrafluoroethylene
1.3 Measuring device accurate to 0.1 mm

2. SAMPLING
3*250x250 mm where the machine and across machine directions are clearly marked. The distance between the outer edge of the plank and the nearest edge of the sample should be at least 100 mm

3. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Condition the samples for 24 hours at 23(+/-1)℃ and 50(+/-5)% relative humidity. Perform the test under the same environmental conditions

4. TESTING PROCEDURE
4.1 Place the samples face up. Approximately 25 mm from the edges, scribe 4 lengths, two in each direction, at a distance of (200+/-1) mm, and measure these





4.2 Place the samples, face up, on the exposure plates and then place the latter into the oven at 80 (+/-2 °C) for 360 (+15) min in the previously stabilized oven

4.3 Take the exposure plates out of the oven and let them recondition (with the samples atop) for 24 hours

4.4 Re-measure along each sample’s 4 lengths


4.5 For each of the test directions, record the variations for the 6 length measurements (2 readings from each of the 3 samples). Calculate the relative variation related to the initial lengths. Calculate the mean value of the 6 results and express it as a % to the nearest 0.5%.

5. ASSESSING TEST RESULTS
