ABRASION RESISTANCE - GB/T18103-2000 (6.3.6) (adapted)
1. TOOLS
1.1 Taber type abrasion cycle tester
1.2 Balance accurate to 0.001 gr.
1.3 Sand paper 180#
1.4 Surgical gauze
2. SAMPLING
1*100x100 mm with a hole in the middle

3. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Temperature: 20 (+/-2)° C
Humidity: 65 (+/-5)%
4. TESTING PROCEDURE
4.1 Acclimatize the abrasion cycle tester with the sand paper on the wheels for minimum 24 hours
4.2 Clean the sample surface with the help of the surgical gauze

4.3 Weigh the sample (W0) to an accuracy of 1 mg

4.4 Place 180 # sand paper on the abrasion cycle tester wheels

4.5 Make sure the sample is flat under the weight of the wheels. If necessary, calibrate the back
4.6 Switch on the abrasion cycle tester and apply 100 turns at 4.9 (+/- 0.2) N on the sample

4.7 Weigh the sample (W1)

4.8 Weight loss (WL) = W0-W1
5. ASSESSING TEST RESULTS
If the wood has been exposed: fail
WL > 0.15 gr.: fail
WL ≤ 0.15 gr.: acceptable
WL ≤ 0.08 gr.: good or excellent
