DELAMINATION RATIO TEST PRIVATE STANDARD
(used in coordination with CASCO - AkzoNobel)

1. TOOLS
1.1 Chisel. The blade shall be 50mm wide, 2-3mm thick, and in a blunt condition.
1.2 Hammer

2. SAMPLING
2*75x75 mm (any other conveniently sized sample is also ok)

说明: cid:image002.png@01CE7105.B5514360

3. TESTING PROCEDURE
3.1 Place the sample on an edge and place the chisel blade along a glue line. Use the hammer on the chisel to “break open” the sample along the glue line.

3.2 If the glue line does not “break open”, there is no need to continue the test.
3.3 If the glue line opens up, use a marker and a piece of cloth to determine which % of the glue layer is still covered with wood

4. ASSESSING TEST RESULTS
If the glue line does not “break open”, the bonding strength is considered acceptable
If the glue line “breaks open” and more than 75% of the glue layer is still covered with wood, the bonding strength is considered acceptable
If the glue line “breaks open” and less than 75% of the glue layer is still covered with wood, the bonding strength is considered unacceptable

Note: this test can be used in coordination with a formal delamination test to assess risk of delamination with engineered wood flooring
