1. TOOLS
1.1 Taber type abrasion cycle tester
1.2 Dust collector
1.3 Sand paper 180#

1.5 Adhesive tape with two adhesive sides

2. SAMPLING
1*100x100 mm with a hole in the middle

3. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Temperature: 20 (+/-2) ℃
Humidity: 65 (+/-5)%

4. TESTING PROCEDURE
4.1 Acclimatize the abrasion cycle tester with sand paper on the wheels for minimum 24 hours
4.2 Calibrate the sand paper

4.3 Clean the sample surface with the surgical gauze
4.4 Draw straight lines linking opposite sample corners in order to create 4 quadrants on the sample surface
4.5 Place the sample on the tester and bring the wheels down onto the sample at 4.9 (+/-0.2) N

4.6 Switch on the tester and change the sand paper every 500 cycles
4.7 Continue with the cycles
4.8 When the Final Point (FP) of abrasion is reached, record the number of cycles. FP is reached when 2 quadrants have decorative paper exposure of ≥0.6 mm2 and a third quadrant has decorative paper exposure of exactly 0.6 mm2

5. ASSESSING TEST RESULTS
Passing requirement: FP≥4,000 cycles
